Texas Department of Public Safety (2010)
This vehicle was used by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol. It arrived at fleet headquarters in August 2010, and in October it was assigned to the Wichita Falls Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. In December 2012 it was briefly transferred to Lubbock Division before being transferred January 2013 to the Media & Communications Division. On August 3, 2015 the car was sold to an officer after having its decals and some of its equipment removed but remaining largely intact. At this time, TxDPS Highway patrol still had more than 700 marked Crown Victorias in service, comprising almost a third of their fleet!
In 2024, the car came up for sale, and was purchased from Texas and shipped to California. Decals were replicated and installed, and missing emergency equipment and antennas were sourced over the next several months. In early 2024, the restoration was finally completed and unit F103469 was finally returned to its original appearance and functionality! It finally made its public debut summer 2024 where it turned a lot of heads at a local car gathering.
This vehicle is equipped with a Whelen Liberty lightbar, Whelen Talon rear deck lights, a single Unity spotlight, WatchGuard in-car camera, Stalker Dual radar system, Motorola Astra Spectra radio, MNSTAR wiring harness, and a Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 laptop.
This is a privately owned vehicle, currently on loan to the Museum collection.
